5 Minutes with Christine Chiara-Smith

Q. Tell us a little about yourself…

I came to Sydney looking for adventure and the adventure continues…Born and bred in a large, noisy family in Uruguay, I always had the desire to explore the world.

I’ve travelled extensively over the years, setting foot on every continent except Antarctica. (I’ll get there one day!)

Q. What are your biggest strengths?

I am determined… and I never give up. I’m loyal, empathetic, and hard working – although I do take time to smell the roses along the way.

Q. What is your favourite band?

Q. If you could sing one song, what would it be?

Any song! Singing isn’t my strong point, but I’d love to be able to sing Hallelujah.

Q. What is your preferred holiday destination?

Spain! From a young age, my grandmother filled my heart with stories about Spain, and when I got there for the first time… it felt like I’d been there before.

It has everything you want in a holiday destination – heart, soul, great food, beautiful sights and for me… family.

Q. What is the attraction to live in Sydney?

When I left Uruguay, I chose Sydney as my home. It is so vibrant and full of energy. I love our Harbour from every angle – from a distance, in a boat, or just lazing around having a drink by the shore.

Q. What do you like to do when you aren’t in the office?

My family are the centre of my universe and it has been enormously enriched in the last 5 years with the arrival of my 4 gorgeous granddaughters. They have certainly added a new dimension to my life.

I also love cooking up a storm for family and friends and travelling the world  – something I will never get tired of!

Q. What are your goals for the next five years?

Having already reached many of my goals, I feel that I have come to a point in my life where I am simply content – personally and professionally.

Over the next five years I aim to maintain my good health, my great work/ life balance and enjoy growing older gracefully!

Q. What is the attraction to working in a real estate office in Crows Nest?

We are so lucky! We deal with such lovely and interesting people every day – and from all different backgrounds. Working in an environment where we get to help people realise their hopes and dreams from a real estate perspective is very fulfilling.

I love coming to work not knowing what the day will bring – every day is so different and it always brings new and exciting challenges.

Q. What is your favourite quote?

Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try. John F. Kennedy
