About Crows Nest
The suburb is named after Edward Wollstonecraft, who was rumoured to have left England to escape his famed aunt, author Mary Wollstonecraft.
Wollstonecraft is located just 6 kilometres North of the City, with the CBD easily accessible via the Bradfield Highway. State transit buses such as the 115 and 320 depart regularly from the area to the City. Wollstonecraft Station operates on the North Shore and Northern Line of Sydney’s CityRail and is only six stations or 20 minutes from Central. The suburb is also in very close vicinity to Royal North Shore Hospital and the Mater Hospital.
Wollstonecraft and its surrounding suburbs provide a variety of recreational options including basketball at the ‘Roof Top’ Basketball Centre, rock climbing at Climb Fit, sailing at RSYS Kirribilli, 9 holes at Cammeray Golf Club and laps at North Sydney Olympic Pool. There are also many local parks with some fantastic foreshore walks.
Crows Nest is not far away and known for its large variety of restaurants, with Willoughby Road and Pacific Highway home to the majority of dining options. Indian, Nepalese, Yum Cha, Italian, Modern Australian, French and Japanese are just some of the many cuisines available. Woolworths and Coles are equally accessible. Chatswood is quickly accessible by train or bus and is home to vast retail stores at Westfield and Chatswood Chase.
What we love about Wollstonecraft:
- The tree lined streets
- It feels like you are away from the city although you are only minutes on the train
- The parks for families
- The walking tracks
