Q. Tell us a little about yourself…

I grew up in Melbourne, ended up with a Science degree and an Engineering degree from Melbourne Uni. Worked at IBM in sales and marketing before starting in real estate as the usiness owner. Twenty five years later I’m enjoying the business and life in general more than ever before.

Q. What are your biggest strengths?

From a business perspective, I feel it’s my negotiation ability. I can usually facilitate people achieving what they want, even if it’s not exactly what they started out with as the ideal result.

Q. What do you love about where you live?

Etty and I live in a unit in the heart of the City, overlooking Hyde Park. We both love walking everywhere but able to retreat to our haven. It’s a big change from the previous house in the suburbs and way better than I expected.

Q. What do you like to do when you aren’t in the office?

Apart from the business and spending time with children, I have three passions – training for and competing in Masters Track & Field Athletics – playing Bridge, the most amazing card game and finally, travel.

Q. What are your goals for the next five to ten years?

One of them is continuing to lead Marriott Lane. It’s a never ending challenge and pleasure. I’ve become a thought leader in the industry and want to contribute to industry, especially in Best Practice Property Management. Others are to facilitate team members to excel in their roles, to continue with my athletics and to see more of the world.

Q. What is the attraction to owning a real estate office in Crows Nest?

I love the area and its people and property.

Q. What is your favourite quote?

In business: “What gets rewarded gets done” – In life “People may not remember your name or what you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel”.

Q. What is your favourite band?

Dire Straits.

Q. What is your favourite food?

Thai, favourite dessert is a Trifle.

Q. What is your favourite city?

London, I love big cities and it’s full of interesting places and people.
